Lynda takes a little trip while Dave plays the tunes and Jack basically drinks and says stuff…
“There was nowhere to go but everywhere, so just keep on rolling under the stars.” Jack Kerouac
“I can’t believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well. I can’t believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been.” Dave Matthews
I had fallen asleep. Resting to the sounds of life, used to certain pains and certain joys. Walls were built. Strategies in place. I had negotiated with life and I had at least found a place I could get by. Okay, so maybe the nerve endings were a bit numbed. I had come to terms…
But then, what do you know? Here comes Godzilla with his big Hairless Dinosaur Yeti feet tromping though my days, through my negotiated life.
Our house was sold. Only caveat was that we needed to be out in 3 weeks. We had always planned on building a new one so this was our chance. But with nothing but an empty lot, the uncertainty was as crushing as one of those giant Godzilla feet.
Husband Ben is in sales so he suggested that we could travel the country, visiting his customers, visiting family, visiting friends seeing what there was to see. I decided that while this would put a little “cramp” on LJMS Art, I would use it as a tool to push me straight out of that long nap I had been taking.
I believe creativity is dynamic, needs stimulation…needs to take risks. I did none of those. So my challenge to myself was to begin this blog and coordinate one piece of unique art each week with the place we go and the song that plays in my head while we are there. My plan (LJMSArt.com will stay the same. I will ALWAYS be “life, love and art inspired by Dave Matthews”!) was/is to use unusual supplies and consciously work on getting my mind dazzled by the light and the moments of life. Help may be on the way. It’s definitely murky down here. I can’t wait to breathe in that first bit of sunny air…that first bit of joyous. Hold on now…is that Dave singing in the background? Read my blog…
Love it.. can’t wait to keep reading.
“If you’re not living on the edge; you’re taking up too much space.” Enjoy the leap, the dance, the PLUNGE into your journey!
Love the new blog Lynda. I look forward to many more of your stories, trips and adventures while listening to Dave.
